The spectator’s gaze is overwhelmed by the play of shots, spasmodic camera movements, backlit figures, sound effects… The gaze slips into a city of enormous buildings and enters streets where everything seems impersonal. Hurried footsteps make their way through the claustrophobic ruins of a city that might be the scene of a catastrophe. And yet some traces of life come out to meet us, unsettling signs in the middle of so much inanimate human product: a heart, a girl’s drawing, a few beings of extraterrestrial shape…
