Review of «Jorge Dandín» in El diario de Alcalá
Jorge Dandín premiered on 21 and 22 October 2005 at the Teatro Rojas in Toledo, within the XIII Ciclo de Teatro Clásico. El diario de Alcalá devoted this review to it, signed with the pen name Gordon Craig.
Andrés Beladiez’s dramaturgical work is commendable; to the updating of the text — which lends it a certain halo of modernity — is added the pruning of its costumbrista excrescences and of its excess of psychological introspection. […] The result is an agile burlesque farce brimming with comedy, to whose cultivation the direction and the work of the actors devote their best efforts. […] Not to mention a nuanced lighting design that helps to unrealise the space, carrying it off to the ethereal dominions of fantasy.
